इस क्षेत्र में वन्यजीव के संरक्षण का जिम्मा पश्चिम बंगाल वन विभाग के पास है। इस क्षेत्र में पाए जाने वाले कुछ सामान्य जानवारों में एक सिंघ वाले गेंडे, हाथी, भारतीय बाघ, तेंदुआ और पाढ़ा प्रमुख है। दार्जिलिंग पक्षियों के लिए भी जाना जाता है। आप यहां ढेरों सुंदर प्रवासी पक्षियों को उड़ते हुए देख सकते हैं।दार्जिलिंग के माल रोड पर आप शॉपिंग का आनंद ले सकते हैं।

दार्जिलिंग के मौसम को मुख्य तौर पर गर्मी, बरसात और ठंड में बांटा जा सकता है। गर्मी का मौसम जहां सामान्य होता है, वहीं यहां कड़ाके की ठंड पड़ती है।

कैसे पहुंचें दार्जिलिंग (How to reach Darjeeling)

पश्चिम बंगाल के प्रमुख हिस्सों से अच्छे से जुड़ा हुआ है। एक प्रसिद्ध पर्यटन स्थल होने के कारण यहां पहुंचना कोई मुश्किल काम नहीं है।

सड़क मार्ग (Roadway)

नेशनल हाइवे 31 और नेशनल हाइवे 55 के जरिए दार्जिलिंग आसानी से पहुंचा जा सकता है। यह सिलीगुड़ी और कलिम्पोंग से काफी नजदीक है।

Darjeeling is easily accessible through National Highway 31 and National Highway 55. It is very close to Siliguri and Kalimpong.

ट्रेन द्वारा (By train)

To reach Darjeeling, one has to resort to Siliguri International Airport. Apart from some cities of the country, this airport is also connected to foreign countries.

१. दार्जिलिंग हिमालियन रेलवे, दार्जिलिंग (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, Darjeeling)

यह यूनेस्को विश्व धरोहर स्थल है। दार्जिलिंग में टॉय ट्रेन की शुरुअता 1800 ईस्वी में की गई थी। आज यह भारत की एकमात्र मिनी रेलवे सुविधा है। वैसे तो टॉय ट्रेन अपने नीयत समय पर चलती है, पर घूमने के उद्देश्य से भी इसे चलाया जाता है। ट्रेन से दिखने वाला नजारा लाजवाब होता है। टॉय ट्रेन की सवारी किए बिना दार्जिलिंग की यात्रा अधूरी मानी जाएगी। इसे कई बॉलीवुड फिल्मों में भी दिखाया गया है।

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The toy train in Darjeeling was introduced in 1800 AD. Today it is the only mini railway facility in India. Although the toy train runs on its own schedule, it is also run for the purpose of walking. The sight visible from the train is excellent. Traveling to Darjeeling without riding a toy train would be considered incomplete. It has also been featured in several Bollywood films.

२. बतासिया लूप और युद्ध स्मारक, दार्जिलिंग (Batasia Loop and War Memorial, Darjeeling)

इसका निर्माण आजादी से पहले स्वतंत्रता संघर्ष और विभिन्न लड़ाइयों में मारे गए लोगों को श्रद्धांजली देने के लिए किया गया है। इसके अलावा यहां पर टॉय ट्रेन हेयरपिन टर्न लेती है। यहां से कंचनजंघा पर्वत श्रृंखला का विहंगम नजारा देखने को मिलता है। साथ ही यहां पर एक छोटा सा बाजार है, जहां से आप चाहें तो कुछ उत्कृष्ट स्थानीय उत्पाद खरीद सकते हैं। अगर आप इस स्थान पर जा रहे हैं तो कैमरा साथ ले जाना न भूलें।

It has been constructed to pay tribute to those killed in the freedom struggle and various battles before independence. Apart from this, the toy train here takes a hairpin turn. From here one can get a panoramic view of the Kanchenjunga mountain range. Also there is a small market from where you can buy some excellent local products if you want. If you are going to this place, do not forget to take the camera with you.

३. लॉयड बॉटनिकल गार्डन, दार्जिलिंग (Lloyd Botanical Garden, Darjeeling)

कुछ दुर्लभ वन्यजीव व वनस्पति, बेहतरीन मौसम और चारों तरफ फैली हरियाली लॉयल बॉटनिकल गार्डन को एक आदर्श स्थान बना देते हैं। 80 एकड़ का यह गार्डन दार्जिलिंग के करीब एक तिहाई हिस्से में फैला हुआ है। बरसात के समय आर्किड के बागान अपने शबाब पर होते हैं और यहां के कुछ स्टॉल पर इसे बिक्री के लिए भी रखा जाता है।

Some rare wildlife and vegetation, excellent weather and greenery all around make Loyal Botanical Garden an ideal place. This 80-acre garden is spread over one-third of Darjeeling. During the rainy season, orchid orchards are in their best shape and are also put up for sale at some of the stalls here.

४. हेप्पी वैली टी एस्टेट, दार्जिलिंग (Happy Valley Tea Estate, Darjeeling)

दार्जिलिंग में होते हुए चाय बगान को घूमने सबसे अच्छा रहेगा। अगर आप चाहें तो यहां से विश्व के कुछ बेहतरीन चाय का चुनाव कर सकते हैं। दार्जिलिंग टी एस्टेट से बड़ी मात्रा में चाय का निर्यात भी किया जाता है। हेप्पी वैली टी एस्टेट उन जगहों में से एक है जहां प्रशासन पर्यटकों को घूमने की इजाजत देता है।
It is best to roam the tea plantation in Darjeeling. If you want, you can choose some of the best teas in the world from here. Large quantities of tea are also exported from Darjeeling tea estate. Happy Valley Tea Estate is one of the places where the administration allows tourists to roam.

५. केबल कार, दार्जिलिंग (Cable car, Darjeeling)

शहर से तीन किमी दूर एक रोपवे है, जो आपको दार्जिलिंग से रंगित घाटी तक ले जाती है। दूसरे छोर पर सिंगला बाजार है। रोपवे की सवारी बादलों से होकर गुजरती है और यहां से आप नीचे के चाय बागान का विहंगम नजारा देख सकते हैं। अगर आपने केबल कार की सवारी नहीं की तो दार्जिलिंग की यात्रा अधूरी मानी जाएगी। इसे भारत के सबसे पुराने रोपवे का दर्जा भी प्राप्त है।

There is a ropeway three km from the city, which takes you from Darjeeling to Rangit Valley. At the other end is Singla Bazaar. The ropeway ride passes through the clouds and from here you can have a panoramic view of the tea estate below. If you did not ride a cable car, then the journey to Darjeeling would be considered incomplete. It also has the status of India's oldest ropeway.
